A network connects your computers together enabling them to share resources, such as printers, disk drives etc, making it easier for users to communicate and collaborate with other users and simplifying the deployment of software patches and updates. There are two types of network: peer-to-peer and client-server.

A peer-to-peer network is simple to set up and maintain but lacks some of the functionality of a client-server network and is most suitable when the number of computers is small. In a peer-to-peer network each computer can act as both a client - requesting and using resources and services - and as a server - making services and resources available.

A client-server network is more complex to set up and maintain but provides full functionality. It is also more expensive, in that it requires one or more dedicated server computers to act as file server, e-mail server etc.

If you feel you could benefit from a network, we can advise you on the network solution that would best fit your needs and help you install it, secure it and maintain it.

If you already have a network, we can help ensure that it is secure and properly maintained.
